I've long been on a quest to find the perfect French press. Now, thanks to Simpli Press, the quest is over.
Took a bit of practice, but my first result was already the best coffee I've made so far. The coffee has a full flavour, not bitter or acidic at all. Well worth the wait! I'll experiment more with different grinds and temperatures. I'm very happy with the simpli press!
It took me a few days to get my grind, press and water temp right, but now I'm brewing some of the best coffee I've ever tasted.
I finally did receive my simple press. It is esay to use and easy to clean
I got three of these beauties. My daughters came home one weekend and we all had enjoyed a cup of coffee made from this French press. Thet quickly snatched the other two French presses as their own ! I’ve had this for a while now and it is really easy to use once you get the hang of it. It cleans up nicely most of all. It is so nice that the coffee grounds are contained and quickly and neatly disposed of. I’m considering getting another one for work. The best thing is you don’t have to grind your coffee so course so you are able to extract more flavor from your coffee. Also it’s beautiful to look at.
Great to use, easy to clean, and no coffee grains!
Such a great product and well worth the wait!
Thrilled by the purchase of this sophisticated French press! Simpli Press produces an excellent cup of coffee! Love it!
I love my press, I'm going to try cold brew with it tonight.
By far the nicest press I have! Super easy to use and easier to clean than my older French presses
Simplipress makes my coffee comeout smooth. Every cup is delicious consisitenly. There's something that just brings out the coffee flavor like no other french press I've used. I love the elegant design that makes my coffee drinking special.
I backed the simpli press when it had its original Kickstarter campaign and at the time needed something with easy clean-up. I've since invested in an espresso machine and don't drink french press nearly as often, but still use it on a semi-regular basis, so the clean-up process doesn't bother me too much. However, if I used this every day, I would probably re-gift it.
The double filtration makes a smooth, rich coffee that you don't get in a regular french press (I would say it reminds me of an Aeropress) but the clean-up process, for me at least, is way more work than my regular french press. When I pull the basket out, I get a trail of grounds, a large amount of trapped coffee, and am left with my hands covered in a coffee slurry. I've watched the video and read the instructions but can't get the easy clean-up that simpli press praises.
All-in-all this press makes good coffee, especially if you like the bold almost espresso-like taste of an Aeropress (and if you don't mind more work during clean-up) this might be an excellent fit for you.
After quite a wait during the design, prototyping and manufacturing tooling and refinement, I got my Simplipress. I generally have a “keep it simple” philosophy to design so I felt like I was taking a chance here as the Simplipress is somewhat more complicated than an old fashioned French press. So in 3 years did they get it right?
Out of the box it looked sharp and well made. The welds all looked soled and I don’t see any joint that will fatigue easily. Materials are good quality with appropriate gauging of steel and silicon coatings where you need them and a borosilicate carafe of course. The alignment of the plunger rod to the filter basket was off a little bit, but I was able to gently bend things straight-ish; it doesn’t seem to effect function. The coffee and water ratio lines are a nice touch too.
I was pleasantly surprised on the function. I expected it to be more clunky to be honestly but there long prototype process paid off with tolerances that are just right: the plunger action is smooth (smoother than my old school bodum). I followed the instructions on removal and the grind cup comes out without a hitch (improves a little with break in too). One caution, however, when the topmost ring gasket clears the edge of the carafe it will flick coffee and grounds everywhere so remove slowly and at an angle.
Cleaning is a snap, though I didn’t find the removable cup all that revolutionary as I still have to scrape out the grounds into a little compost bin but perhaps if I banged them out in a sturdy trash can it would be easier. The ease of disassembly of the filter basket is great and cleans faster than my bodum.
All that aside, I gave 5 stars (more like 4.5) because of the coffee quality. It makes a truly smooth cup of coffee with minimal sediment (if I had a better grinder I don’t think it would have any). I can choose different grind sizes and dial in my coffee depending on the roast. Overall, well done.
I am new to French press coffee, but I am no stranger to drip coffee. This maybe a little more labor intensive than drip, but it taste miles better. The simplicity of the product is undeniable. It is easy to follow the instructions, it is easy to clean, and it is easy to drink. I am a simple guy that got this for my wife because she loves French press coffee, but i end up using it more than her. All in all, I am very happy with the product and would recommend it to my friends and family.
Easy to use and easy to clean, a little less messy than my other French Press
Follow the instructions and the coffee comes out smoooooth and strong! The basket with the grounds comes out easily too if you let it cool a bit after using...
makes great tasting coffee
The best cafetiere I have bought in years, its sleek design is awesome
If you haven't bought a Simpli Press yet, you're missing out. This is amazing coffee, without the traditional French Press cleanup!
The best French press I have used. I even use it to brew loose leaf tea. I love the EASE of emptying the used coffee grounds or tea leaves. I have many other French presses, but I’ve decided to use them as kitchen decor since the Simpli Press is the only one I actually use now.
I had become addicted to brewed cocoa (Crio Bru), and was competing with my husband for the use of our single serving french press. When this caught my eye, I had to spring for it...my own press, a larger capacity (I often would make a second cup in the mornings), and the promise of easy cleanup. What I did expect was the marvel of the double filtration...no more grounds in the last swallow of my cup! The Simpli Press is lovely...looks good, works well, and brews up a great cup. It took about 3 brews to fully break in the silicone seal, but now I easily remove the grounds container and clean up is a breeze. I don't follow the recommended lines for grounds, but that may be a difference between coffee and cocoa. In any case, it's a fabulous product, the developers are super responsive to questions, and I'm very pleased with my purchase.
It felt like it took ten years to get the press, but now that it is in my possession... I'm glad I waited. It is definitely worth it. I have to admit there was a slight learning curve to using the press since the o ring on the press was a little difficult to work with. But that's been settled now that it's been used some. The coffee is nice and smooth when it comes out and definitely has a richer flavor than what you would get out of the grounds in a coffee machine. It's a happy addition to my kitchen. Thank you for all the hard work that went into making the press.
Works as advertised as long as you don't add too many grounds. Just watch your grind amount and you will be thrilled with this French press. Highly recommend!
Seems to leave much less grinds than regular French press but sometimes if you press too hard the top part gets stuck in the lower part
